Vortex Liquid Color began supplying liquid colorants to the plastic industry as a subsidiary of Sheboygan Paint Company. In May of 1998 Vortex became an independent company, allowing Vortex to pursue its own product development course while maintaining Sheboygan Paint Company’s 80-year tradition of quality and customer service.
Vortex’s 25,000 square foot facility houses customer service, research, production and warehousing. Vortex supplies cost effective custom colorant. Colors are custom formulated to exact specifications for Injection Molding and Extrusion based manufacturers. Vortex Liquid Color allows the manufacturer to purchase large quantities of natural material and custom color it in-house. This eliminates the need to purchase numerous, costly pre-colored materials. The inventory control advantage this offers has lead to great savings for Vortex customers.
Vortex Liquid Color differs from many of its competitors and predecessors in that a majority of its products are easily cleaned up with soap and water. Vortex custom formulates its multitude of products to be compatible with specific base plastics. This approach is unique in the industry and results in little or no change in the manufacturing process being necessary.
