Thermoplastic
|
|
Vortex Liquid Color provides liquid color concentrates for many of the Engineering and Commodity polymers that are used in the market today. Our liquid colorant systems are not just compatible with the base polymer, but frequently improve the process and/or performance properties of the plastic part.
The VLC Series products have been formulated to deliver high pigment loadings at low letdown ratios, which allow the end user to produce more uniform and consistent parts. We achieve these results by custom designing each liquid colorant system to your polymer and process, leading to significantly lower overall cost. The VLC Series line can also be custom formulated to meet "Toxic in Packaging Laws" (formerly "CONEG"), FDA, NSF, and RoHS compliance requirements.

Antioxidants |
Most commercially available polymers contain sufficient amounts of a stabilization package to protect them, but there are cases where additional protection maybe required. If you're trying to improve durability, processing at a higher temperature, or reprocessing the polymer, we can incorporate the correct stabilization package into our liquid colorants to meet your needs. |
|
Clarifiers |
Clarifiers which are normally used in polypropylene essentially jump-start the crystallization process allowing the crystals to form faster, the polymer then solidifies faster, and the cooling time is reduced. Polypropylene normally forms crystals larger than the wavelength of light, and with the introduction of clarifiers, the crystallites are reduced to the point that they are less than the wavelength of visible light. Since the visible wavelengths are not significantly affected by the small crystallites, the polypropylene parts are more transparent |
Vortex Liquid Color offers transparent liquid colorants for polypropylenes that already include the clarifier additive, or we can incorporate the clarifier into our liquid colorants allowing our customers to utilize the polymer for multiple projects. |

This product line allows the manufacturer to use the polypropylene for multiple projects, rather than having to purchase a separate clarified polypropylene for one project. |
|
Nucleating Agents |
Nucleating Agents are very similar to clarifiers, but provide faster crystallization of polypropylene allowing for improved processing speed and productivity in both injection and extrusion processes, along with improvements in dimensional stability and physical property balance. |
Vortex Liquid Color offers a single package Liquid Nucleating Agent or we can incorporate the nucleating agent into our liquid colorants. |
Ultraviolet Light Stabilizers |
Stabilization of the polymer is critical if your plastic part is going to be exposed to sunlight, and there are two types of UV Light Stabilizers available to protect the polymer: |
Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) are extremely efficient stabilizers that do not absorb UV radiation, but act to inhibit degradation of the polymer, thus extending its durability. Significant levels of stabilization are achieved at relatively low concentrations. |
UV Absorbers (UVA) have the property to convert the energy absorbed from UV light into heat, this heat then dissipates through the substrate. UV absorbers will remain active during the life-time of the plastic part. |
Ultraviolet Light Stabilizers can also be incorporated into our liquid colorants to meet your requirements. |

Vortex Liquid Color also offers the following cost effective solutions for managing your inventories:
|
| |
 |
Blanket-Order Program - Estimate your needs for ninety-days, issue a blanket order to us for that amount and we will base pricing on that order. We will then hold this inventory in our warehouse, allowing you to release and pay for it as you need it over that 90 day period. |
 |
Drum-Recycling Program - Seal up the drum and ship it back to us, and we will issue a credit for the unused colorant that can be recovered (up to ten pounds). This program also eliminates any cost associated with disposing of the liquid colorant and the packaging material. |
|
All of the colorants produced by Vortex Liquid Color are:
|
